Arthur Ituassu assesses the ability of social media to “equalize” electoral contexts. Its objective is to analyze three of the many consequences for politics and democracy related to the use of this channel, given consequences such as disinformation, segmentation and radicalization. This text intends to debate each of them, reflecting on their effects on the country's daily life. To get there, it is essential to contextualize the recent changes that have affected media systems across the planet, accentuated by the advancement of AI.
