Open Letter: Governments must act now to curb climate misinformation

O Democracia em Xeque Institute, next to more 50 organizations e 42 specialists and organizations, signed an open letter released yesterday, 13th, in COP 29, demanding that world leaders take effective action against climate misinformation. Information integrity will also be a topic during the event next week, when an initiative will be launched during the High-Level Summit. Organizations such as ClimaInfo, FALA, Greenpeace Brazil, OC and Instituto Talanoa are also signatories to the letter.

Key points include: Recognizing the threat; adopting a universal definition of climate misinformation; preventing the monetization of misinformation; adopting policies that increase the ability of internet users to identify false content.
