Lecture by the DX methodology director, Marcelo Alves at an event in Oswaldo Cruz's house this March 12th.
The massive use of the internet and the intense sharing of information via digital social networks have triggered profound transformations in the ways of communicating, placing us before new and complex challenges that mark the post-truth era. Among them, the unbridled circulation of misinformation stands out, with serious consequences for society, on different topics. To address this issue that strongly affects science and scientific dissemination, the event “Challenges of misinformation and possibilities for scientific dissemination”, promoted at Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC/Fiocruz), will debate the topic on different aspects and with researchers from different areas. The event starts on March 11, in the auditorium of the Museu da Vida Fiocruz, on the Manguinhos campus of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, in Rio de Janeiro. The lectures will be open to the public. In the afternoon of March 12th and 13th, the workshops “The challenge of disinformation: understanding reception” and “The Challenge of Misinformation: In Search of better Scientific Dissemination” will take place for specialization and master's students.
