Instituto Democracia em Xeque participates in the first technical table of the event
On 18/06/2024, the Third Sector Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) of São Paulo began its III Law Summit, with an extensive and interdisciplinary program until 20/06, celebrating 20 years of this Commission. Agnes Franco, associate researcher at DX participated in the panel “CPI of NGOs and Bureaucratic Criminalization: lessons and learnings”, the first technical panel of the event. Márcio Astrini (Climate Observatory), Theo Dias (criminal lawyer), Priscila Pamela (criminal lawyer and vice-president of IDDD), Fernando Furriela (member of the OAB Third Sector Law Commission) and Paula Storto (Third Party Thematic Coordinator Sector at the Escola Superior de Advocacia) were also at the table mediated by the president of the Commission, Dr. Lais Figueiredo, one of the greatest authorities in Brazil on this topic.
The DX presentation focused on two points: CPI numbers and Narrative Map. It was demonstrated in the study that the CPI required around 100 hours of work, involving 76 deponents, only 5 of which were from NGOs. The Narrative Map lists the structuring of the ideas defended throughout the CPI, the arguments presented by the proponents and main actors, in addition of other data.
