On June 13, 2024, the DX was co-organizer of the public hearing "Climate Information Integrity in the Brazilian Parliament“. The initiative was from the Environmental Education and Combating Misinformation GT of the Environmental Parliamentary Front.
The Director of Technology and Thematic Studies at DX, João GB dos Santos, was one of the debaters: “Instead of the oft-repeated 'tree standing and belly empty', what we saw in the Rio Grande do Sul tragedy was 'a tree on the ground and a flooded house'. This is what connects the climate emergency to the lived experience of those affected.”, said the scientist.
Also at the table were the GT coordinator, federal deputy Chico Alencar (Psol-RJ), the Executive Secretary of the Working Group and DX researcher, Agnes Franco, and experienced professionals Cristina Amorim (ClimaInfo), Karina Santos (ITS) and Thais Lazzeri (FALA).
