O Democracia em Xeque Institute participated, in June 2024, in the LASA (Latin American Studies Association) Congress, which focuses on research and studies related to Latin America. The event, with the theme Reacción y Resistencia: Imaginar Posible Futuros en las Américas, was held in Bogotá, Colombia.
The directors Ana Julia Bernardi, Beto Vasques, Letícia Capone e Tatiana Dourado, together with the counselor Arthur Ituassu, composed the table “The paths that lead to 8 de enero en Brasil y los riesgos de la radicalization ciudadana para la América Latina”, with a presentation of research carried out by the Instituto Democracia em Xeque and PUC-Rio in recent years, including the Timeline of Threats to Democracy in the Bolsonaro Government, available at this link.
