With financial support from Quick Response FundWe are launching the research report today. "Online Attacks on the Supreme Federal Court and the Superior Electoral Court in Brazil (2022–2025)".
In recent years, the Brazilian digital environment has become a hub for discourses that challenge the integrity of electoral processes, the actions of the Judiciary, and public trust in democratic institutions. Between 2022 and 2025, this scenario intensified with the circulation of messages and the construction of narratives that frame decisions by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) as evidence of abuse of power, political persecution, or censorship, triggering waves of mobilization and, in some cases, institutional pressure, such as calls for the impeachment of ministers.
The study conducts a detailed analysis of these discursive articulations, identifying recurring patterns, peaks of mobilization, and the processes by which criticisms come to focus on specific institutional and individual actors.
The research uses the database of the Alert System against Disinformation and Attacks on Superior Courts (Sadits), developed by the DX Institute, which incorporates analytical categories from the publicly accessible Electoral Disinformation Alert System (SIADE).
