During the international event, “Disinfo and Elections in the Global Majority”, Marcelo Alves, director of methodology at Instituto Democracia em Xeque, launched the report “Disinformation and 2022 elections in Brazil: lessons learned from a South-to-South context”. The text produced in co-authorship with researchers Rafael Grohmann (University of Toronto), Raquel Recuero (UFPel) and Camilla Tavares (UFMA) takes an analytical look at the experiences of combating disinformation developed in the national context, in addition to outlining possibilities and limitations of the possibilities of appropriating these practices in international contexts. The report was launched by the researchers and received comments from Afonso de Albuquerque (UFF/INCT-DSI), Ethan Zuckerman (UMass) and Sahana Udupa (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich) on the first day of the event.
