Videos, texts, and photos from over one million posts related to acts of vandalism against the buildings of the Three Branches of GovernmentThe collection, dated January 8, 2023, will be available to researchers starting this Monday, the 27th. The archive was gathered from social media between October 2022 and February 2023, in an effort to preserve records that, for the most part, are no longer online—either due to the actions of the users themselves or due to the governance policies of digital platforms.

The project Digital Archive January 8th It was developed by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) in partnership with... Democracia em Xeque Institute and the National Institute of Science and Technology in Information Disputes and Sovereignties (INCT-DSI).

The archived posts contain over 500 photos and 100 videos. The content was collected from monitoring the most used social networks in the country — Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok and Kwai — and other more alternative platforms, such as BitChute, Gettr, Rumble, Odysee and Altcensored.
