The Media, Politics and Democracy Research Group at UFMT (Midiáticos) has partnered with the Democracy in Check Institute, funded by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, to monitor the performance of candidates for Mayor and City Council of Cuiabá on TikTok during this year's elections. Every 15 days, the two groups will release data on the politicians' performance on the short-video platform, one of the most used social networks in Brazil. The project, "Regional Electoral Hubs – Monitoring Municipal Elections in Brazil on TikTok," combines the data collection capacity of Democracy in Check with the local analysis expertise of 10 research groups across the country.
