Jair Bolsonaro's trial for attempted coup sparked intense debate online this week. A report by the Democracy in Check Institute (IDX) indicates that hashtags supporting the former president dominated posts, but the most frequently mentioned hashtag received a boost from left-leaning profiles. Posted more than 6 times, #BolsonaroFree, created to defend Bolsonaro, also went viral due to ironic shares that highlighted its literal translation of "Free from Bolsonaro."
