Marçal's defeat in the first round in São Paulo 'recycled' misinformation about the electoral system after the social network was unblocked, according to a survey by the Democracy in Check Institute

The unblocking of the social network X by order of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) last Tuesday (8) was followed by a wave of false information against electronic voting machines and the Brazilian electoral system. The conclusion is from a study by the Democracia em Xeque Institute, which also identified a profusion of publications on the platform insinuating an alleged fraud in the counting of the municipal elections in São Paulo that was to the detriment of Pablo Marçal (PRTB), who did not advance to the second round by a difference of 56,8 thousand votes in relation to Guilherme Boulos (PSOL).
