The campaign for this year's municipal elections in Brazil saw a significant reduction in disinformation, compared to the 2022 presidential elections. In addition, both President Lula and former President Jair Bolsonaro had a less prominent participation than expected. Experts indicate that polarization has lost strength, although it is still present. According to Sabrina Almeida, a researcher at DX, the suspension of the social network X may have affected candidates with fewer resources, limiting debate and political communication in real time.
