Supreme Court justices warn appeals could delay case and reopen path for 2026 elections
Started by Luiz Fux's vote, justices of the Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) began to consider that their colleague might open the gate to a series of challenges—from so-called embargos infringentes (motions for a new judgment on the merits in cases of non-unanimous convictions) to an injunction that could allow Jair Bolsonaro's candidacy in the 2026 presidential elections.
