Parliamentarians from the ruralist bench made several posts of solidarity with Rio Grande do Sul this week, but ignored the influence of the climate crisis as one of the determining factors of the tragedy.
A survey carried out by Democracia em Xeque Institute shows that the few mentions of environmental factors found in the posts are in ironic and denialist tones. There are no statements about the need to adopt preservation and disaster prevention measures.
