The outcome of the case could create a milestone in the attempt to hold platforms accountable for what they broadcast.

The Democracy in Check Institute pointed out that, in 2024, the STF and the TSE were the targets of more than 6.200 dangerous publications on social media. These publications included threats to ministers, questioning the legitimacy of the Justice system and defense of coups. According to the project director, Ana Julia Bernardi, platforms consistently fail to moderate content involving political violence, racism, climate denial, and anti-vaccine rhetoric.
