DX SPECIAL BULLETIN #5 – Amnesty (August 28 to September 08, 04)

Social listening monitoring shows that the progressive camp led the digital dispute over the amnesty bill. There were 7.077 progressive occurrences, compared to 4.153 conservative ones, in addition to 4.626 neutral ones (mostly from the press) and 3.125 hybrid ones. This volume consolidated the slogan #SemAnistiaParaGolpistas (No Amnesty for Coup Plotters) as the dominant narrative, associated with impunity and a threat to democracy. Conservatives, on the other hand, focused their mobilization around slogans like "broad, general, and unrestricted amnesty" and hashtags like #BolsonaroFree, defending the measure as "national pacification" and resistance to the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The hashtag dispute reveals a clear contrast: progressives mobilized rejection and accountability, while conservatives attempted to reframe the amnesty as an act of reconciliation.
