The Federal Government decided to revoke the act that made the new rule for monitoring PIX official after a wave of fake news on the subject took over social media. The issue of monitoring PIX, which was already trending, was further boosted with the revocation of the new rule. Based on social listening, we observed a movement by the progressive camp to denounce the far-right for spreading fake news on social media and criticizing the communication of the Lula government. In turn, the conservative camp celebrates Nikolas Ferreira as a hero and tries to mobilize a revolt against the government based on the false taxation of PIX, asking “if it wasn’t true, why did they revoke it?”. This action became more evident through the analysis of messages sent in Telegram groups. Based on the analysis of Congress on Social Media, we can see the resumption of the discussion about the need to regulate social media.
