INFORMA 20 | Weekly Report – Information and narratives on Climate and Environment

Published October 17, 2025

This week, the digital socio-environmental debate focused on two thematic areas: COP30 and environmental licensing.

The conversation surrounding the Conference, which specifically addressed this week's pre-COP event, was surpassed in terms of publication volume by the mobilization surrounding the maintenance of President Lula's vetoes of the environmental licensing law. However, the debate surrounding COP30 led the way in terms of engagement.

There was a projected peak in the thematic axis related to environmental licensing on the eve of the date scheduled for the vote by the National Congress on Lula's vetoes.

In addition to these topics, the expectation surrounding the issuance of the license for exploration of the Equatorial Margin also gained prominence. Publications discussed the progress made following the meeting between Ibama and Petrobras.
